After developing a strong personal practice over about 10 years, Jessica underwent through a transformative experience of 200-hour teacher training. Since completing her training, she has taught in several libraries and studios, and have been teaching several types of yoga including basics, power yoga, restorative, and mommy and me classes. By teaching yoga, she is constantly reminded that if we are open, we are all always students. Through teaching she hopes to build mindfulness, compassion and strength in students as she learns new ways to cultivate these in herself. Jessica's style of teaching is meditative and encouraging, with a focus on alignment, awareness, and breath as we move through interesting poses or transitions. Connecting with students is as important to her as connecting with herself, and learning with them is as exciting for her as it is for them. When I'm not teaching or doing yoga, I am doing neuroscience research, playing with my kids, or eating/cooking/thinking about food.

Jess D. first discovered yoga in 2011 and within a few months, knew she wanted to share the gift of yoga with others. She focused on her practice for two years before deciding to get her RYT 200 hour certification in 2014. She believes the magical energy that each person brings to their mat is what makes this practice so beautiful. She focuses in class on connection of the body and mind, combined with deep energetic breathing. Hip openers are her favorite! She is expecting her first child in April 2021 and is ecstatic to introduce yoga to her son.

Yoga has been a part of Alicia's life for over 8 years. She began doing yoga at her gym around her junior year of high school as a form of exercise. She would take find classes off and on until Sophomore year of college. It was then she began to practice yoga regularly to cope with anxiety and stress relief. Then, during her senior year of college she experienced a knee injury that completely stopped her from practicing yoga. Once she was cleared to practice she did so right away. This is how she found Yoga Innovations, where a year later she went through Yoga Teacher Training and received her RYT 200. Outside of yoga she works as a Budget Analyst and when she's not practicing yoga, she loves to workout, run, cook, travel and spend time with her rescue dog, Rio.
